About The Funky Tails

Founded by Elisa and inspired by her own dogs, Chunk and Moosh, The Funky Tails was built around empathy, structure, and understanding canine behaviour and communication — supporting dogs and their owners in creating calm, confident, and balanced partnerships within city life.

The Journey Behind The Funky Tails

The Funky Tails was founded by Elisa, alongside her two dogs — Chunk, a Springer Spaniel, and Moosh, a German Shorthaired Pointer.

Elisa’s journey into dog training began with Chunk. From early health issues to ongoing stress & reactivity he challenged everything she thought she knew about raising a puppy. Through patience, persistence, and guidance from Honest Hounds, she learned how to truly speak 'dog' and began to focus on structure, partnership, and empathy — transforming both Chunk’s confidence and their relationship.

Moosh has been a very different adventure. Confident and friendly, he is now starting to help other dogs feel at ease by offering an even tempered and reassuring canine presence. Together, they’ve shaped the foundation of The Funky Tails — a relationship based approach rooted in structure, empathy, and understanding.

A Thoughtful Approach To Every Dog

Before working with dogs, Elisa was an architect — a career that developed her organisation and attention to detail.

Those same principles guide her work today, where calm leadership, communication, and consistency help dogs feel safe, secure, and understood. The Funky Tails was created to support every kind of dog — from sensitive and reactive to bold and energetic, through to helping set young puppies up for success — through structured training, real-world group sessions, and confidence-building experiences designed to create calm, balanced partnerships.

With a strong understanding of working breeds and their needs, Elisa specialises in helping dogs thrive within urban life rather than simply suppressing natural behaviours. With a particular passion for gundogs, her training focuses on fulfilling breed-specific needs through enrichment activities, relationship-building, organic engagement, and real-life skills that allow dogs to navigate city environments calmly and successfully.
